    Introduction

    This section will provide an overview of the components, function and purposes of the Integumentary system. Discussed in this section is information related to assessment of diverse clients, identifying appropriate interventions and contributing to a plan of care for integumentary disorders.     Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

    • Describe risk factors for integumentary disorders (C.O. #5 and #8) 
    • Identify cues related to alterations in integumentary system across the life span (C.O. #5 and #8) 
    • Differentiate findings among diverse clients (C.O. #4 and #6) 
    • Identify interventions to preserve and to support healing process of skin integrity (C.O. #5 and #8) 
    • Contribute to a plan of care for clients with integumentary disorders (C.O. #5 and #8) 

    To achieve these objectives:

    1. Read the Module 15 Wound Care Introduction. 
    2. Read and view the materials in the Chapter 10 in Introduction to Practical Nursing.
    3. Complete the two videos with these links Pressure Ulcer Prevention video and Pressure Ulcers II Prevention video.
