Assignment:
The relationship between immigration and incarceration in the United States is a complex issue and often blurred. Write a 1-2-page reaction paper on distinguishing between immigration detention (civil custody for administrative violations of immigration law) and criminal incarceration (detention following conviction for a criminal offense). See attached handout either in the Course Syllabus on how to write a reaction paper or go to the resource file. Also, make use of the APA 7th edition writing style guide, which is in the Resource file as well.
Writing Instructions:Write in APA 7th edition style; write in either font styles--Times New Roman or Arial or Courier or Calibri. Write in size 12-point font and double space. Please make sure that you provide a title sheet with the paper. The reaction paper should be either 1-2 pages in length. Please read the handout on how to write a Reaction Paper. Included is an explanation on what a reaction paper is. You may also feel free to use the Purdue Owl online library or the North Carolina Chapel Hill online library as well. These are excellent sources to use when writing.
