Step 1: Contact the receiving personnel in the purchasing department of a school, hospital or institution food service. Ask to watch the receiving process and the student should take notes pointing out:
The step by step procedure and record the total time
Any tools used
Which personnel were involved in receiving
Record temperatures
Make sure to note any discrepancies in the procedures
Recommendations to improve the procedure
STEP 3: Reply to one student post using critical thinking skills to make another correlation. Comment on the other students experience pointing out any similarities or discrepancies.
All posts must be written clearly, accurately, and in context, demonstrating comprehension of the material and the use of critical thinking skills. Your initial post should be 400–600 words and is worth 6 points. You must submit two reply posts, each worth 2 points, and these replies must be substantive contributions that extend or deepen the discussion. Together, the initial post and replies total 10 possible points. This activity supports digital skills by reinforcing effective online navigation and communication within the digital learning platform and aligns with CLO #4, 6, 9 and MLO #1, 2, 3.
