Module 7 Discussion: Real- World Food Storage Scenarios
Instructions: In this assignment, you will discuss food storage scenarios you may face in the real world.
Think about your own kitchen at home or a restaurant/food service job you've had. Choose ONE of the following scenarios to discuss:
Scenario A: Home Kitchen Detective Walk through your kitchen and identify at least 3 food storage mistakes you find (or have made in the past). Examples might include: expired items in the front of the pantry, raw meat stored above vegetables, or unlabeled leftovers in the freezer.
Scenario B: Restaurant Reality Check If you've worked in food service or observed a commercial kitchen, describe one food storage practice you witnessed that either impressed you as being very safe OR concerned you as potentially unsafe.
Scenario C: The Great Freezer Cleanout Describe a time when you or your family cleaned out a freezer and found items that had been there WAY too long. What did you find? How could the FIFO method have prevented this situation?
