First, read about Culturally Competent Care for Muslim Patients. Then review the case: Cancer: A Failure to Communicate.

In the chapter, we learned that "the goal is to build cultural competence into the permanent framework of health care." Describe at least 3 practices/structures that could be implemented to enable the nurse/doctor/hospital to better handle cases such as this one. Identify the practices/structures and describe why you believe they would have a positive impact.
