Description
Students enrolled in this course will examine the anatomy and physiology of human organs and organ systems. Students will study the structure and function of the following: (1) the nervous system, including the special senses; (2) the endocrine system; (3) the circulatory system, including the lymphatic system and immune response; (4) the respiratory system; (5) the digestive system; (6) the urinary system; and (7) the reproductive system.
Purpose of Course
This course is designed to acquaint students with an introduction to foundational topics needed to develop an in-depth understanding of the discipline of anatomy and physiology. Because the material presented in this course is an important prerequisite for further coursework and careers in medical and health-related fields, students should be committed to devoting the time necessary to master the topics presented in the course.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Describe the structure, function & location of the major components of the nervous system – including the special senses.
Describe the structure, function & location of the major components of the endocrine, circulatory, and respiratory systems – including the lymphatic system and immune response.
Describe the structure, function & location of the major components of the digestive & urinary systems.
Describe the structure, function & location of the major components of the male and female reproductive systems.
