  1. Accessing PubMed: Go to site
  2. Basic Search: Use the search bar to enter keywords (e.g., 'type 2 diabetes treatment').
  3. Refine Results: Use filters on the left such as Article type, Text availability, Publication date, Species.
  4. Access Full Text: Click a title, then locate “Full Text Links” on the right.
  5. Cite the Article: Click on “Cite” on the right toolbar for citation styles (APA, MLA, etc.). 

Guided Tutorial: Using CINAHL

  1. Accessing CINAHL: Login via your college library site and locate the CINAHL database.
  2. Search Techniques: Use Boolean operators like AND, OR, NOT to refine results.
  3. Limit Your Search: Use filters for peer-reviewed sources, publication date, subject headings.
  4. View Abstract and Full Text: Click a title, read the abstract, and choose PDF Full Text if available.
  5. Save and Cite: Use database tools to save, email, or cite the article.
