Research & Analysis

Select one chemical hazard and one biological hazard relevant to your current or intended career field.

For each hazard, address the following:
a. Description & Sources – What it is, where it is found, and how workers may be exposed.
b. Routes of Entry – How it can enter the human body.
c. Health Effects – Acute and chronic health outcomes, including possible latency periods.
d. Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs) – If available, include OSHA PELs, ACGIH TLVs, or other recognized standards.
e. Control Strategies – Apply the hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, PPE).
f. Case Example – Summarize one real-world incident involving the hazard, its impact, and lessons learned.
