Digestive system infections are a major cause of illness worldwide and are often associated with contaminated food or water. In this case study, you will examine a real-world scenario involving a foodborne illness outbreak that affects multiple individuals. Using concepts from the Digestive System Infections chapter, you will analyze how pathogens enter the gastrointestinal tract, cause disease, and spread through populations.
This assignment is designed to strengthen your ability to apply microbiology concepts to public health and clinical situations, evaluate causes and transmission of digestive system infections, and communicate scientific ideas clearly in writing.
